wild child

animal prints

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine

Have you noticed how in trend animal prints have been lately? I have never been all that bold enough to wear animal prints or textures, but I may have to dip my toes into this one. Snakeskin and Leopard print just say fierce. Sometimes us girls need a little diva / fierceness in us. Although I'm pretty sure our husbands and boyfriends would disagree...

Be bold today wild child.

Featuring: Kacie's Kloset

Click here to visit her blog

I decided to start having featured bloggers on Runaway Style. I think it is a great way for people to find new fashion inspiration and lovely reads. It's always fun finding new blogs to read and pull inspiration from, right? I thought you all would love to see a few of my favorite bloggers and find some new fashion love for yourself.

My first feature is Kacie from Kacie's Kloset
Kacie is such a sweet and ultra stylish girl. She is from Northern California and has the most beautiful personal style blog. She's 24, married, and has two doggies. Kacie was gracious enough to do a simple, fun Q&A with me for all you readers. I think you all will enjoy finding out a little bit about the gal behind Kacie's Kloset. Her style is simple, everyday, and a bit edgy, which is a perfect inspiration source for us everyday kinda gals.

Q&A time

1. What made you start your blog?
I started blogging in April 2012 to help promote my online clothing store. Since then, I have decided to close my store to focus on blogging. I love getting to share my outfits and connect with other fashion lovers.

2. How would you define your style?
That’s a tough one because I feel like my style is starting to change a little bit. Ever since I cut my hair, I’ve been drawn to more neutral items with a bit of edge. I think my style is classic with a trendy twist.

3. Aside from blogging, what are three of your favorite things? (Such as an activity (running, thrift shopping), hobby, animal, or thing... ice cream, jewelry, etc.)
Blogging is definitely one of my favorite things to do but aside from that I like going on walks with my husband and dogs, watching movies/tv shows, and shopping of course. I also ride four wheelers.

4. What do you do for a living? What are you hoping to achieve or do in the future?
Since closing my store, I have been focusing on blogging. I hope to continue to grow my blog. Luckily my husband is very supportive of my blogging dreams.

5. Where do you find the most inspiration?
In regards to fashion, I find a lot of inspiration from blogs, Pinterest, and People StyleWatch. When it comes to living an amazing and fulfilling life, my 86 year old grandpa inspires me. He has such a positive outlook and knows what’s really important in life. His goal is to put a smile on your face and everyone who meets him loves him. He truly is one of a kind.

6. What is your biggest challenge when it comes to blogging?
My biggest challenge is comparing myself to other bloggers. To me, my pictures are never as good as someone else’s, or my outfit and hair aren’t just perfect. I’m trying to stop the comparisons and just focus on me and my journey.

7. Do you have a current favorite trend or look?
Right now I’m loving a more casual look with a touch of edginess. I’m really drawn to neutral colors, especially black. And I can’t seem to get enough plaid.

Printed & Oversized

Leggings: H&M. Sweater: H&M. Shoes: Nordstrom Rack. Bag: Kate Spade. Necklace: Tiffany&Co. Bracelets: Vintage & Marc Jacobs. Watch: Kate Spade. Sunnies: Anthropologie.

You guys, I am obsessed with this outfit. This is literally so comfortable.
Real life: Don't you girls loveee hormones? We all know that a girl on her "time of the month" needs a perfectly oversized sweater and some stretchy pants. It's very necessary. Along with some chocolate...Lots of chocolate.

To tell you the truth, I recently went shopping at H&M and hit this amazing sale. Their prices are already very low, which is partially why I shop there so often anyway, but this sale...This sale is one of those unreal sales. These leggings were only five dollars! I scored a bunch of other cute things that I can't wait to share on the blog soon. For me, I am even more in love with clothes on sale. Creating outfits is that much better when you purchase something for a discounted price. I mean, people, I was even talking about the awesome deals I found as I was going to sleep that night...Yeah. It happened.

boyfriend .

friday favs 1/24/14

This week I wanted to focus on the Menswear trend. I think it is a very strong and super chic trend. I haven't had much of a chance to actually try this trend myself, but I've noticed the blogger world blowing up with the menswear vibe over the past couple months. Personally, I think this style is the perfect mix of comfortable and chic. It's all about effortless meets structured. It's those baggy, ripped boyfriend jeans with a sleek blazer and a leather satchel bag, add some dainty gold necklaces and a chunky watch and you're set. There are many, many ways to pull off the menswear look. It can be done subtly or in a bold way. The beauty of it is that you can be purposely messy and yet look 100% put together. You could even borrow from your boyfriend or husband to get the look. Remember that you can always tone it down by adding in feminine pieces or prints. Mix it up and give it a try!

Happy weekending!

Our Wedding / Part 1

   Pre-ceremony & Blind First Look

The most amazing, special day of my life happened almost a year ago on February 24th, 2013.
I have been meaning to share the photos with you all and I am finally doing just that.
Our wedding took place at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in their Big Red Barn. It was vintage and soft. The colors we used were mainly peach, blush, beige, and ivory. I definitely wanted the day to be about Jarrett and I and all of the love, rather than bright colors. I gravitated towards a soft, neutral color pallet that would showcase who we are, perfectly. There were so many aspects of that day that I adored. I think my favorite photos were of our blind first look. We chose to do a blind look, meaning we got to talk and hold hands and pray together before the ceremony without breaking the tradition of not seeing each other prior to the vows. I am so happy we decided to do that. It calmed my nerves and gave me butterflies. He even surprised me with a beautiful Tiffany necklace during the blind first look. I am such a lucky girl to have married such a thoughtful man.
As a fashion blogger, I thought I should mention what we wore! My dress is a White by Vera Wang strapless gown in ivory. It is made of taffeta and tulle with an A-line shape and an empire waist. It has a bow tied in the back and like 6 layers under the skirt! I am in love with my wedding gown. My favorite aspect of the dress is that the top is layers of raw edges... How perfectly undone. It fits my personality so well and made me feel absolutely beautiful.
My now husband wore a gorgeous ASOS suit in brown tweed. He wore boots and a plaid tie to give the look a more rustic feel. He was so handsome that day (and everyday)!

More details and portraits to come!
