Christmas in Cali

Dress: Gap. Booties: Steve Madden. Bag: Kate Spade New York. Bangles: Thrifted. Necklaces: BaubleBar + Forever 21.

This year the weather has been very warm, warm enough for a dress in December. I have to say it took me a minute to fall in love with this little number, but now that I have, I can't get enough. Such an easy piece that is bold and effortless.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Merry, Merry

I am always amazed at how fast a year can fly by. We have gone through a lot of highs and lows and here we are, just a few more days left in 2014. I am so excited for what we've been blessed with and what is to come in the coming years! I am grasping on to these precious days of Christmas vacation and taking a moment to appreciate life.
I somehow always find myself coming back to blogging during less hectic times. This time I am feeling a bit more ready. I also love to note how my fashion choices continue to change and mature, as with the years.
These photos are from our little family Christmas card shoot, taken with a tripod and a remote. Such DIY-ers, I know.

Merry belated Christmas to all you wonderful people.

repeat

Jeans: Gap (sale). Shirt: J.Crew (sale). Shoes: Nordstrom Rack. Bag: Kate Spade. Watch: Kate Spade. Necklace: Forever21.

If only you could understand how much I want to wear these pants. They have been on repeat all week. Especially when I am at home working or running a few errands. Comfort level is beyond good. I also just picked up these cut-out oxford style shoes at Nordstrom Rack on a clearance sale! I love how great they are for spring and of course, with my beloved boyfriend jeans. Haha. Life lately calls for laziness in the outfit department. shirt. jeans. shoes. Done.
I hope everyone had a great week and has an even better weekend!

happiness behind the craziness

Dress: Tilly's. Necklace: Forever21. Bracelets: Vintage.

I recently had to create a magazine for one of my school projects. We each had to make an original advertisement and article. My loving hubby gladly (thankfully) helped out in the photography department and shot these photos of me and some others of my friend and I. I used one of these for a faux Billabong advertisement. I was super happy with the overcast lighting and my beachy ombre hair, that I will have you know happened at 7am. I also worked on that magazine for hours on end. Dedication baby. At it's finest.

Sorry for my continuing absence in the blogosphere. Love this blog world too much to stay gone.
Pardon my hectic schedule. In other news, I've been moving all week and working like crazy on that magazine project. Done and done!

I also want to share a little treat with you blog friends of mine.
I had to watch a video and start a challenge in one of my classes.
It's called...
HAPYR (hapyr.com
Watch the video about positive psychology and take the 21 day challenge to be "Hapyr"! It's super simple and a great reminder to take a deep breath and be happy and grateful for life. Through everything in life it is so important to find happiness in the little and the big things. Stop chasing this dream of happiness and become it. I strongly encourage you to try it out. Being positive can change you and probably impact the people around you. Such a good start to a happier life.

navy + change

Dress: Nordstrom rack. Bag: Zara. Shoes: SoleSociety. Bracelet: vintage & Marc Jacobs. Necklace: Stella & Dot.

Ta-Da! Please give a round of applause to my new hair color! Or at least to me for actually doing something a little spontaneous and different! I had the sudden urge to change up my look and I have been loving the ombre thing so here I am. Ha. Totally loving the blonde. I'm also totally loving this navy shift dress and new SoleSociety mid heels. I think I should wear this look multiple times and by think I mean I definitely will

cozy & casual

Jeans: Lamb&Flag. Shirt: H&M. Sweater: old. Bag: Kate Spade. Shoes: Target.

These are some photos taken a little while back that I never got around to blogging. Don't you love having extra blog posts? There's no hiding that this is a tad old because for those of you following me on Insta, you know that I recently changed my hair a bit. Anyway, regardless of that, I love this outfit. It is equally cozy and put together. Perfect for a cool day. I mean I'm pretty sure this sweater can double as a blanket? Yes please.

Happy Monday & thanks for reading

friday favorites: mid heel

mid heel

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Sometimes I forget just how good a new pair of shoes can be. I mean, not to be shallow, but come on who are we kidding ladies, shoes are pretty darn close to happiness. If you follow me on instagram: misshannahrenee, you know that I just got the SoleSociety mid heel (number 8) and I was surprised at how much it lifted my mood. Seriously, chocolate, wine, and shoes. Those are the ingredients to a good afternoon. Don't believe me? You wait. Get yourself a pair of these versatile and comfortable and extremely gorgeous shoes. I feel like I need one of each. For a girl who doesn't love wearing uncomfortable high heels and is more about practicality, these suckers blew my mind. Life changer. Haha yes, I'm being extreme, barely, but I am obsessed with this low profile, yet sexy heel height. Mid heels are definitely perfect for everyday and anytime of day. Such a ladylike, yet sexy shoe. Of course, many of you have probably seen, and overseen, the gorgeous Valentino (#1) on various style bloggers. It is probably the trend-setter when it comes to the mid heel, but most of us can't drop that much money on a pair of shoes. I think my next pair will be the similar SoleSociety Julianne Hough mid heel (#2) at just about 60 dollars! Steal. These heels can be worn so many ways, which makes them a perfect addition to your shoe collection. The mid heel comes in so many styles and colors, either go neutral or get it in a fun, bright color for this Spring! Ok, shoe rant has come to an end. Happy weekend loves.

a little fuzz

Sweater: H&M. Jeans: Lamb&Flag. Shoes: H&M. Bag: Kate Spade. Watch: Kate Spade. Bracelet: Marc Jacobs & Vintage. Necklace: BaubleBar.

As you all know, I am hugely into being comfortable. This fuzzy sweater and a little boyfriend jean is my current go-to look. I love how adding a sweet pink kitten heel and a bit of sparkle make the outfit more sophisticated without compromising comfort. Totally making me happy right now.
Happy Day Loves!
