The Little Things

The Outfit ~
Maxi Dress: Free People
Sweater: Nordstrom B.P.
Scarf: Denmark
Boots: Steve Madden
Silver rings: Tiffany&Co, Pink ring: Sale @ Nordstrom B.P.

Let me start by saying how comfortable this outfit is. I feel so put together, yet so un-tailored. Jarrett and I decided to go take a few photos while he waited for class to start. Lucky me, my class was cancelled! It's the little things in life that tend to make me smile. Not sitting in class for three hours? Totally good news.
So we found this area to take pictures and I just loved the view of the town. What I didn't love so much was all of the little sticker things that the bottom of my dress collected. Jarrett and I had to stand there picking each sticker off, while trying not to poke our fingers. It was quite ironic. Beautiful view to lure you in and before you know it stickers all over your clothes.. Sometimes it's the little things in life that drive me crazy! It's funny how they were invisible until I felt them stabbing my legs.. Maybe that's a tiny bit dramatic, but still. Haha.

What I Wore Wednesday: Little Miss Southern

The Outfit ~
Blouse: Zara
Sweater: Zara
Shorts: Tilly’s (previous employer)
Boots: Steve Madden
Jewelry: Tiffany&Co (rings&necklace), Vintage bracelets (from momma)

I went to see the movie The Help with my momma and grandmomma this week. I cried. I thought it was great. Afterwards we went to a restaurant called Lucielles. We thought it would only be appropriate after a southern focused film. The d├ęcor was sort of diner like, 50’s or 60’s style. We then ordered fried okra, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy… so SO yummy. Best of all, sweet ice-cold tea! I absolutely love sweet tea. How could you not? Oh and they serve the drinks in mason jars! It’s just adorable. Today was a happy day.
If you’ve seen The Help, did you like it? If not, go see it!

Rebellion

 The Outfit ~
Blouse: Zara
Jeans: Wet Seal
Jacket: Arden B.
Boots: Steve Madden
Purse: Marc Jacobs
Jewelry: Tiffany&Co

Nothing says rebel quite like black leather. Okay so maybe I’m not much of a rebel or even a big risk taker, but wearing black leather makes me feel like I should be. These boots are brand new and I am down right in love! I’m in shock that I haven’t owned a pair of black boots until now! Can you believe that? It’s a crime. Of course, I couldn’t go full on “bad girl” so I wore my polka dot blouse. It makes me feel a little more “good girl” and a little less criminal. I think it adds a tad of innocence, and that is all I need.

psst...follow me, make my day!  : )

What I wore wednesday: Gimme some sugar

The Outfit ~

Dress: Nordstrom B.P. sale
Denim Jacket: Lucky Brand (previous employer)
Boots: Steve Madden
Necklace: The Seed

I love the way I can feel flirty without feeling delicate in this outfit. Girly-girl, with a little toughness around the edges. Just what I was going for. I’ve been kind of grouchy the past couple days and I am seriously craving sweets. I want candy and cookies and cake! I’d kill for some comfy jammies and a great chick-flick, too… not literally! Who do you think I am?
Actually being a college student and all, I think I could afford a night off. Right? I’m easily convinced. My best friend usually tells me it doesn’t take much to persuade me… good and bad, I’m aware. Haha. Have a happy Wednesday!

With love,
H<3

The Simple Bare Necessities...

The Outfit ~
Pants: Zara
Blouse: Nordstrom B.P.
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack
Bracelets: Vintage via my momma

The weather in Southern California has been all over the map lately. It was extremely hot, then some summer storms came along mixing humidity with a bit of rain, now it's a little bit cooler... Let's just say I've been forced to change outfits more than once daily. Haha. I'm that type of girl, anyway. Can never decide on just one look from morning till night. But hey I blame it on the weather!

I love, love, love the simplicity of this look. You might be thinking, "Did she forget accessories this morning?" The answer is no. I feel like sometimes, just sometimes, a bare neck is necessary. A little femininity, a dash of masculinity, and a tiny bit of vintage. Good thing.

What I wore wednesday: Is it recess yet?

The Outfit ~
Shirt: Oslo, Norway :)
Shorts: Tilly's (previous employer)
Shoes: Steve Madden
Scarf: Copenhagen, Denmark ! (Hint: we went to Europe last summer)
Messenger Bag: Made by me :)
Bracelet & Watch: Nordstrom Rack & Denmark

Today is the first day back to school after the holiday weekend. It's leaving me missing the days of kindergarten. When the hardest task was coloring in the lines and the playground was waiting for you at recess. Don't you ever wish life was still that simple? Haha. I know I do.

Naturally Native

The Outfit ~
Dress: Free People via Nordie's Rack
Boots: Steve Madden (my staple)
Arm band: Vintage via Ebay :)
Turquoise ring: Found it! (Lucky me) Other rings: My usuals (Tiffany)
Bracelets: Silver pieces- vintage from my mother,
Leather- handmade by me, Rope piece- found?

I am proud to say that I am part Native American. I'm only a portion of this heritage, however, I announce it on a regular basis.....Jarrett is a witness to this statement! Every time I wear this outfit, along with the accessories, I feel a little bit closer to Pocahontas. Ha Ha. Not surprising that I loved that disney film when I was younger.

Have a splendid sunday!
