Barely Floral // Mixed Feelings

Jeans: H&M // Tee: Zara // Shoes: Converse // Bag: Kate Spade // Necklace: Tiffany&Co.

Today is my first day of classes for the Fall semester and let me tell ya, I am barely excited. It is an awesome experience to be able to attend Cal State Long Beach and earn a degree in Fashion Merchandising, but school is, well, school. I'd have to lie to you to say I am super into school... I am definitely known to be somewhat of a perfectionist, especially in my school efforts, but there are times where I just can't get motivated. Today is one of those days. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to begin this journey at the University, just not quite jumping up and down about it. Ha.

I often let my clothing reflect my mood [as if you haven't already noticed] and yesterday (in this outfit) I was feeling a little off balance. Emotions on high and hard around the edges. So mix a boring t-shirt with barely there floral pants and converse? In my own little fashion language, I summed it up. I swear my pants are floral! It is really hard to see in these photos. I figured floral is girly and emotional, right? Converse are edgy and dare I say [rebel- ish]. The shirt = mellow/blah. And that little half up messy bun? Franky, careless?
Okay, okay fine. I'm PMSing.
That explains it. Better than all that other nonsense. Hahaha.

For all of you college // students out there, good luck & keep on keeping on people!
For all of you done with your schooling, I am so jealous right now.

Last days of Summer

Shorts: Gap // T-Shirt: Target // Bag: Thrifted dooney&bourke // Shoes: Target // Necklaces: Stella&dot, Tiffany&co, Wired for Freedom [etsy] // Watch: Fossil // Bracelets: Thrifted [white], Marc Jacobs [silver], FoxVsRabbit [{almost}sister in law's jewelry line :) ]

Yesterday was one of those days where all I wanted was a fan in my face and ice cream. It was hot. I do not do well with heat let's just say that? Ha. Like open the car door and heat waves hit you in the face kind of hot. I am waiting for the days of Fall to come! I start school Tuesday so I consider this weekend my last days of Summer, although I am sure it will continue to be warm for a little while longer.
I'm in love with the location of these photos, which is right by our condo, it's just a really cool park with big trees and a creek. I think it is really pretty and peaceful. With exception to the heat.. and the bugs..and the dirt.. and the annoying flies. Yeah, peaceful. So peaceful...maybe in winter? Haha.

On another note - It's Friiiiiday!
Have a happy day!

Highlighter

Sweater: Gap [sale]. Jeans: Lamb&Flag [sale]. Shoes: H&M. Bag: Kate Spade. Necklace: Tiffany&co. Bracelets: Marc Jacobs//Thrifted//FoxVsRabbit

I wore this little get up for a date night with my husband. We went to the movies to see The Butler, which wow, really makes you grateful for the freedom we have and how far this country has come. It was a great film and I recommend seeing it!
Anyways, I loved the simplicity of this look. I have been seeing so many bloggers wearing the boyfriend jean and heels lately so I decided to jump on that wagon. As you can see my bag and shoes match, but my favorite part of this outfit is definitely that highlighter yellow. School is coming like a bus and I am so not ready for my summer to come to an end. This is my last week off before starting Cal State Long Beach. I will say, I am excited about transferring, but I am a bit nervous for the work load. I was really hoping this whole lounging thing would continue. The closest thing to prepared for classes is wearing this highlighter yellow and let me tell you, that is a bad sign.

Happy Monday!

BHLDN Open House

My Outfit: Dress: H&M. Shirt: Target. Shoes: Jessica Simpson. Necklace: Franchesca's. Bag: Kate Spade.

This past week my good friend and I attended an Open House for the beautiful BHLDN Wedding store in store! It was held in the Beverly Hills Anthropologie, which alone was amazing. The evening was full of beautiful gowns, champagne, great conversation, yummy treats, and some lovely ladies [Not too mention a whole lot of picture taking]. I had such a good time. So dreamy, right? How could it not be magical to be surrounded by some of the most delicate, ladylike dresses and sparkly things!? I had the opportunity to meet and chat with some of LA's style bloggers, Kier from Fashion Addict, Liz from Late Afternoon, and Kimberly from Eat.Sleep.Wear
It was all around a great evening!

Enjoy your weekend lovelies!

A Whole Lotta Love

Dress: H&M. Jacket: Free People. Shoes: Nordstrom Rack. Clutch: H&M. Bracelet: Forever21. Necklace: Handmade with the lovely Tamera Beardsley

I wore this outfit out with good friends for a fun dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Cucina. I wore it again like a week later to attend a church service. I basically fell in love with this outfit and I feel like I need to wear it about once a week... Is that normal? I absolutely love the mix of girly and edgy. The dress is ultra comfy cotton and easy to wear. Oh, and these shoes were such an unexpected find! I always look for shoes at Nordstrom Rack, but I rarely find shoes that I like and are comfortable for me, but these babies were everything I wanted and a little bit more. Haha. I love the peak toe and the ankle strap! My necklace was handmade at a fun jewelry night at my best friends house with her mother and my mother. I had such a great time creating such a personal piece. It has a little sparkle with the crystal, a lot of meaning with the cross, and an adorable pin with the number 13 on it [which happens to be Taylor Swifts lucky number] I mean, thats a bonus.
So as you can see, I have a whole lotta love for this get-up and each little detail in it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Back to Basics

Leggings: Nordstrom Rack. Shirt: Zara. Shoes: Target. Bag: Marc Jacobs. Bangles: Forever 21. Necklace: Gift! Glasses: Firmoo.

This week has been one of those weeks where I just want to stay in sweatpants.... all day week. This outfit was so comfortable. Perfect to wear over to my parents and hang with my husband. A few accessories and a little red lip definitely make the outfit. I don't always wear my glasses, but I thought they were really cute with this look. My husband and I have almost the same prescription glasses, isn't that weird!? It was meant to be. I love this necklace, too! It looks like candy and it's from my best friend. What's not to love right?

P.S. This post is random. I hope you enjoy it.
