Work It Wednesday - Lacey Skirt

So I was super excited when I stumbled onto Jillgg's good life (for less) new link party, Work It Wednesday! I found this a few days ago and thought I would give it a go! I decided to showcase one of my favorite items in my closet; my Free People lacey skirt. I have been trying to find new ways of wearing this little garment and here are three ways I've worked it....

Polka Dot Party

The Outfit ~
Blouse: Zara
Shorts: Tilly's (my previous employer)
Shoes: Report via Nordie's Rack
Handbag: Marc Jacobs (gifted from the boy)
Jewelry: Rings; Tiffany&Co (my everyday necessities) Necklace; Thrifted!

I've been pretty busy this week and sadly, haven't posted on here... But I'm here to assure you I haven't given up. School started up again this past Monday and life just got a whole lot crazier. So with five classes I am continually reminding myself to not freak out yet... the first week isn't quite over. Tomorrow is the first day of my Saturday class. I know what you're thinking, "Who in their right mind would take a Saturday class!?" I figured it's not so bad. Jarrett, my hot boyfriend, works on the weekends and I have no reason not to wake up early on a Saturday morning. Plus that was the best fit English class my college was offering. BLAH.
Today was Jarrett's and my only real day off this week and it was over 90 degrees. Much too hot for my liking. We went out for breakfast this morning at this homey little place and after... went shopping! In the wonderfully air-conditioned mall. I found a darling sweater and he got some pants! Win-win.

Oh yeah, my outfit... I recently found this aqua colored necklace at a flea market for only 5 bucks and had to have it! I obviously dressed mainly for the weather, but felt free and fun in this little get up.

Saddle Up

The outfit~
Sweater: Zara
Jeans: Hudson
Boots: Steve Madden
Handbag: Marc Jacobs
Accessories: Watch from Denmark. Rings from Tiffany&Co. Necklace from Nordstrom (B.P. Department)

Ready for my afternoon ride on my horse, Bailey....Okay you caught me, I don't own a horse...Okay, okay so I don't even ride horses. Does it count if I used to? I took horse lessons when I was young, until I started learning how to jump. Oh yeah and one of the girls (who was around my age) showed up with a broken leg from falling off her horse...Yep, that was the end of my horse days.

This outfit reminds me of the equestrian. There's just something about this look that whispers "I ride horseback in the afternoons and watch the sunset." I know, FANCY. Sophistication meets country casual.

Tractor Fun

The outfit~
Shirt: Free People
Skirt: Free People
Socks: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Steve Madden
Jewelry: Tiffany&Co, Vintage bracelets

Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite outfits...EVER! My friend and I decided to take a car ride and find a spot to shoot some photos and lucky us, we stumbled upon an abandoned tractor. (And we don't even live in a farming area) Anyways, I love this outfit because it's carefree, yet fashionable. Sometimes I wear it just to silently say, Yes I look this good without even trying... but we all know that's false. What can I say, it makes me feel stylishly careless.
