The Last of 2013

Jeans: Wet Seal. Sweater: Free People. Outer sweater: Frenchi (Nordstrom). Heels: Jessica Simpson. Bag: Kate Spade. Necklace: Baublebar.

Today is the very last day of 2013!!!  Can you believe it? This year has just flown by before my eyes. It has been a year full of blessings. It has brought joy and it has brought struggle. God has provided me with so much to be grateful for and such amazing memories, but he has also tested me in ways I couldn't imagine. I am excited to grow and to see what this new year, 2014, has in store for me and my husband.

Here are the top ten peaks of 2013:

1. Getting married! to my favorite person ever. (& having the most perfect/beautiful wedding)
2. Traveling to the Caribbean.
3. Adopting a puppy!
4. Having a cute new place to live.
5. Enjoying a bridal shower and the last days of being engaged.
6. Married date nights.
7. Experiencing school at a university.
8. My husband surprising me with a new Disneyland pass.
9. Decorating my home for the holidays!
10. Celebrating Christmas & my 22nd Birthday as a married lady!

I hope all of you make the best of this last day of 2013 and reflect on what your year has brought you, how you've grown, and what you'll make of the new year!

xoxo

Christmas Recap

Flannel: H&M (men's section). Jeans: Paige Denim. Shoes: Sam Edelman. Bag: Kate Spade. Necklace: Baublebar. Watch: Fossil. Bracelets: Marc Jacob & Nordstrom.

This was Jarrett and my first Christmas as a MARRIED couple!!! It is actually our 5th Christmas we've spent together, but amazing how different it is to be married. Personally, I am a huge fan of the holiday season and the celebration of Christmas so I was up bright and early at 6 am. Yep. You could say I was a tiny bit excited for the day. We had our Christmas morning coffee, gifts, and stockings at our place and then enjoyed spending the day at my family's house. It was truly a wonderful time.
My family definitely sticks to casual, comfortable Christmas day so I decided to stick to jeans and a comfy flannel. First of all, let me just say that these Sam Edelman flats are too die for. I have the hardest time finding flats that are comfortable to walk in and these little ones did the trick. Secondly, I have been searching for a good flannel for the winter season (I say winter, but honestly it was 80 degrees on Christmas). This flannel was on sale for $15 at H&M and is technically Men's. Ha that didn't stop me honey. Lastly, I am utterly obsessed with one of my gifts from my husband.. the necklace. Yes, Baublebar is amaze and this bling had me smiling all day. Such a great piece to have in the wardrobe.
Merry merry Christmas (a little late) & a Happy New Year to all of you!

Chambray + Corduroy

Chambray shirt: Target. Sweater: Element. Cords: Urban Outfitters. Booties: Target. Necklace: Forever 21. Bag: Kate Spade.

These photos were taken many weeks ago when my husband and I visited the little town of San Luis Obispo. Our hotel ended up being just down the street from this field of horses. It was romantic to be so near to such beautiful animals and the calmness of the town. I was pleased with this outfit and feel like it was the perfect mix of casual and chic. Now finally check mark to blogging this look! done and done.

Friendship & Vineyards

Outfit details: Dress: Free People. Socks: Urban Outfitters. Boots: Steve Madden. Sweater: Element. Necklace: Forever 21.

I was so disheartened when my best friend decided to leave and go to college in Northern California back in 2010. It is so crazy to look back now and realize how much time has passed and all that we have been through together. We have been best friends since we were in junior high and have stuck together through the years. Life has sometimes gotten in the way, but despite the craziness of life and ups and downs of our friendship we remain sisters in spirit. I can't believe it has been about nine years!
I was super happy that my husband and I got to go visit her and her man for the weekend in San Luis Obispo, California, where she goes to school. We are thrilled to grow up together and experience the changes in life. Now that we are both of drinking age, we had such a fun time experiencing wine tasting together with our men. It was only appropriate, especially with my husband's new hobby being photography, that we take advantage of the beautiful scenery and the free day to take photos together in the vineyard. We obviously love goofing off together and being silly. I love this girl so much and I am excited to share these fun, lovely photos of my best friend sister and myself!

Cheers to good friends and good wine!
