rain, rain

Tights: Nordstrom. Shirt: Zara. Sweater: Nordstrom. Socks: Urban Outfitters. Rainboots: Hunter. Bag: Kate Spade. Beanie: (my hubs). Watch: Kate Spade.

People. Something major happened this weekend. It. Rained.  Yeah, that's right, California had a mini rain storm and we all freaked out. Ha I'm kidding. I love the rain, but it doesn't happen all too often. I mean thunder, lightening, heavy rain, the whole bit. I got to binge on television and go to the movies and eat lots of food, because that's what you do when there's a rainstorm and it's gloomy outside all day. Rain, rain come again, && let's be friends... You guys, I got to wear my Hunter boots for like four days straight. This is good.

// p.s. the last picture. it's just for you. //

Hope you are snuggling up on the couch with some popcorn right about now.

weekender: denim & corduroy

Cords: Urban Outfitters. Shirt: Zara. Jacket: Lucky Brand. Shoes: Vans. Clutch: Zara (sale). Necklace: Tiffany&Co. Watch: Kate Spade. Bracelet: Marc Jacobs.

So this look is a must for all weekenders. (which is all of you, just saying') I totally love the weekends where all you do is clean, grocery shop, hang out with your hubs, do normal everyday things mixed with a little coffee run, fro-yo stop, or Target shopping. Sometimes the basic, "average joe" type of weekends are just enough. We all need a couple days to relax, rejuvenate, and laugh. Side note: I was being incredibly hard to work with during this shoot because I kept laughing and striking really ridiculous poses that probably should have been captured. TGIF. Let's all strike a pose and crack ourselves up. Because that's totally normal right? Especially behind buildings? Thought so.

wine + utility

Jeans: Paige Denim. Turtleneck: H&M. Jacket: Free People. Shoes: Target. Bag: Kate Spade. Necklace:

Through these, what I like to call "weird weather months" here in Southern California, it is difficult to pinpoint how warm to dress. It'll be beautiful and sunny, but a little breeze makes me shiver. Don't get me wrong, I love Southern California in all of it's warmness, but I also love layering. I seriously have not worn a turtleneck shirt in so long! I decided to take the tiny leap with this thin burgundy one from H&M. Pairing it with minimal jewels, staple pieces (like some comfy leopard flats and the perfect denim jeans), and a light utility jacket to add some interest is definitely working for me.
Hope you all are having a great week!

One year

It is Jarrett and my one year anniversary! It's crazy to think about how fast time flies, but here we are at the one year of marriage mark and it feels incredible. We have definitely gone through a lot of changes and adapting, but it is a joy to be married to this man. He makes me smile constantly and he is so caring. We met back in the summer of 2009 (the first photo) and now five years later celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Truly a strange feeling. Love, love, love.

Friday Favorites: Pretty Pastels

pastels

one / two / three / four / five / six / seven / eight / nine / ten

Spring is fast approaching here in Southern California. I know many of you are living in snow and very cold weather, but hey maybe a little Spring dreaming will brighten your day! I love the Spring trends because they are typically ultra feminine and often ladylike. Seriously, these pastel mint and pale pink are too good. I am currently dying over the TopShop crop top and skirt. Need. It is so fun to stay up on trends and to experiment with new things. I also threw in a little Etsy print with its soft floral background to remind you of some simple daily values to live by. I always view Spring as new beginnings, Spring cleaning, and rejuvenating yourself. Why not do all these things while wearing pale pink and pastels, right?!
P.S. I think we need a to have a tea party.
