Paris is always a good idea...

dress: h&m. scarf: target. shoes: nordstom rack. bag: dooney&bourke (thrifted). bracelets: nordstrom.

I forgot to post these photos the other day.
It turns out California wants to stay summer forever (or just all last week, in less dramatic words). So anyways, I put on a summer dress and pretended I was in Paris. Nothing wrong with that, right? For some reason this outfit totally made me feel like I belong in Europe. On a bike, with a basket full of flowers. Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, Paris, France on a sunny September day, with a breeze in the air, blue birds chirping on the trees, and me drinking a cappuccino on the patio of a small little cafe with the Eiffel tower in view. Haha I'm officially day-dreaming... or writing a romantic novel about a fictional character that is apparently myself.. Hmm, I think I'm onto something. Hahaha I crack myself up.
Sometimes I laugh at the things I write on my blog. I feel like as soon as I just let my fingers type, instead of thinking of what I want to say or how I want to say it, magic happens..Okay maybe dorky, funny, odd sentences just appear on the screen, but that's the same thing right?

Love is in the air

blouse: lush via nordstrom rack. jeans: lamb&flag (sale!). boots: steve madden. hat: h&m. bag: marc jacobs. sunnies: marc jacobs.

Happy Thursday everyone!
So since I haven't posted very recently I have accumulated several new favorite pieces for this season...& I just so happen to be wearing like 4 in one outfit. That's talent right there.
First of all, these jeans from lamb&flag are amazing, the fit, the color, and I only paid about $5 for them! Unreal right? It was a closeout sale, quite bittersweet. Second, this blouse is burgundy and flowy and wonderful. Need I say more?
Number three? I just bought this hat. I love it. I hope you do, too.
And four, these leather boots from last winter. I don't think I could ever break-up with these babies.
I am SO excited that we can wear boots and autumn colors, we can layer, we can wear hats and big bags...There are so many possibilities!
Have I mentioned I love fall and winter? Passionately

The Reason

The reason I've been absent from blogging is major! (don't worry it's a good thing)

Some of you who follow me on instagram (misshannahrenee), may already know my news, but for the rest of you here is the story:

On a warm summer afternoon in August I was busy setting up the backyard for a little family party. We were going to simply celebrate the little things, school was out, Emily (my oldest brothers girlfriend) got a new hairdo, Sydnee (second to oldest brothers girlfriend) came home from vacation, and Jarrett (my boyfriend) received his Associate Degree. So while Jarrett was getting out of work, I was preparing to surprise him. We said hello before he went inside to change into more relaxed clothing. When he came back outside he was dressed in a full black suit, which, being me, raised the question in my head "why are you wearing that", but I didn't have time to process. He walked straight over to me and started with the words "I can't wait any longer"... As he got down on one knee, tears of joy started rolling down my face. I felt so overwhelmed and excited and surprised. It felt so unreal, like a movie or a dream. He told me he loved me and wanted to be with only me. I tried to take in the moment, hearing every word he spoke as he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said "yes!" as my hands were shaking and my heart was beating fast.
So this was it. The beginning of the journey to marriage! We are Engaged!!!!

It has been about 10 weeks already! I know, I've been stuck in a whirl-wind. We have chosen a date to say "I do"... Drum roll please!

February 24th, 2013.

About 4 months away! Planning started right away. I found a venue, a dress, colors, photographers, florist, and the list continues. There is so much to do, plus I am also in school part-time, and I have started a part-time nannying job. I am a busy girl, but I had to share this exciting news with all of you!

Here are the photos my brother took of our proposal.
